May 2: Mudita/Rejoicing
Mudita is rejoicing in the happiness of others. It's the greatest source of untapped joy as there is always someone, somewhere who is experiencing happiness. If we tap into this, we too feel happy.
A talk by Ayya Ahimsa given in January 2025 was played.
May 6: Equanimity/Upekkha
Equanimity is the fourth Brahmavihara. It is built upon the previous Brahmaviharas thus manifesting as a warm heart with a cool min.
Here is a link to an excellent podcast on dopamine and addictive behaviour. The goal for treatment is basically equanimity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6xbXOp7wDA
And an interesting book is, "The Obstacle is the Way". It's about the philosophy of Stoicism which has a lot of similarites to the teachings of the Buddha, especially in regard to equanimity.
May 13: Dipa Ma
Dipa Ma was known as the Patron Saint of householders due to her ability to teach and inspire extremely busy laypeople in their meditation practice.
