What we pay attention to creates our experience in the present moment and influences who we are becoming. Our attention is our most valuable resource and the Buddha knows this. He gives us practical, immediately doable instructions.

AN 4:11 Giving and receiving honest feedback is a lifeline for each of us. It has played an important role in the longevity and continuity of the Sangha.
June 19: What Matters When Navigating Perplexing Matters
AN 3:65 The Kalama Sutta There are some similarities between the time of the Buddha and our modern era. the advice the Buddha gives the Kalamas regarding what to base their lives on is applicable to us today.
June 26: Right Effort
Right effort is the 6th step along the Noble Eightfold Path. It is the balanced effort that purifies our mind by preventing or removing the hindrances and causing the arousal and maintenance of the Seven Factors of Awakening.
June 30: The Five Spiritual Faculties/Abilities
Buddha laid out many maps leading to the end of suffering. The most complete map is that of the Noble Eightfold Path. But there are others, highlighting various aspects of the Path. These are collected in the 37 Bodhipakkhia-dhammas....the 37 Wings to Awakening. Today's talk is on one of these maps....the Five Spiritual Faculties, referring to their ability to purify the mind of the hindrances.
