The Profundity of Kindness
AN 3:66 The Buddha has so much to say about the importance of kindness, to ourselves and to others.
Aug 11: Sense Restraint
The Buddha teaches us to use sense restraint to prevent the arising of desire and aversion. However, it's not really clear how to do this. Thankfully, Ajahn Munissara gives a very animated, detailed talk on how to actually carry out sense restraint....and she does it with a lot of humour. Here is the link to her talk.
This talk is part of a series of talks on The Gradual Training. Her talk is Workshop 3, Part 6 and Workshop 4, Part 7.
Aug 21: Equanimity
The planned talk for today was to be on Resentment. One of the antidotes that the Buddha prescibes for resentment is equanimity. But in the sutta I chose, there were no guidelines on how to put equanimity into practice. I found a wonderful talk by Ajahn Brahm that gives us detailed instructions on how to do this: https://bswa.org/teaching/2000-rains-retreat-teachings-2/
The talk on Equanimity is # 6/11.
Aug 25: Resentment
The Buddha gives us five methods to let go of resentment in AN 5:161 and then follows up with five images to help us in AN 5:162.
