Oct 1 - Magnificent Metta-cine

Metta practice is not just another tool in our meditation tool belt; it is a central foundation for our spiritual lives.

Oct 17 - In Search of Kusala: The Seven Factors of Awakening

The Seven Factors of Awakening are in direct opposition to the Five Hindrances. These factors of Awakening are what we are cultivating when we meditate.

Oct 24 - Remembering Presence

The Pali word sati initially was translated into English as recollectedness. Currently the common translation is mindfulness. These two essential aspects of sati, presence and memory, work together to support and strengthen each other, on and off the cushion.

Oct 31 - Investigation of Dhammas

This is the second Factor of Awakening. We investigate distractions when we cannot easily return to our meditation object or when the same distraction arises over and over again or when we "hate" the distraction.
